Keep a place for unfinished ideas
A notebook does not need a perfect system. Leave a page for questions,
a few lines from a book, or a sketch that might become useful later.
An index at the back can make even a loosely organized notebook easier to revisit.
Take the familiar route slowly
A short walk can be a chance to notice what usually slips past:
the shape of a leaf, a change in the light, or a quiet corner of a busy street.
There is no need to turn every outing into a destination.
Make the next step small
Choose something that can be finished in an afternoon: mend a loose button,
arrange a shelf, or try a simple recipe. A small finished project can teach
more than a complicated plan that never leaves the page.
